Yellowstone
Nature
The world's first national park sits on top of a supervolcano.
Yellowstone in the United States became the first national park in the world in 1872. It lies on top of a huge volcano, and the heat from below makes the ground steam and bubble.
More than half of all the geysers on Earth are here. The most famous, Old Faithful, shoots hot water into the air about every hour and a half. Bison, wolves and bears roam the park.
