Serengeti
Nature
The plain where more than a million animals are always on the move.
The Serengeti is a sea of grass in Tanzania, almost 15,000 square kilometres of it. Its name comes from the Maasai and means endless plain.
Every year well over a million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras walk in a great circle, following the rain and the fresh grass. Lions, hyenas and crocodiles wait along the way.
