Lake Victoria
Water
The largest lake in Africa, shared by three countries.
Lake Victoria covers about 69,000 square kilometres: almost as much as the whole of Ireland. Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya each have a part of its shore.
The White Nile flows out of the lake on its long way north. Millions of people live from the lake: they fish in it, and ferries cross it between the three countries.
