Sagrada Família
Landmark
A church in Barcelona that has been under construction since 1882.
Work on the Sagrada Família in Barcelona began in 1882. The architect Antoni Gaudí worked on it for more than forty years, until he died in 1926, and it has been growing ever since.
Gaudí took his shapes from nature: inside, the columns branch like trees. The central tower is about 172 metres high, which makes this the tallest church in the world.
