The questions we get asked most. If yours is not here, write to us.
Getting started
What does Edustello actually do?
You give it study material — pasted notes, a PDF, a Word file, photos of handwritten notes, a link, or just the name of an exam — and it writes a practice exam from that material. You sit the exam, it marks your answers including the written ones, and it tells you which topics to revise.
How accurate are the questions?
Questions are generated from your own documents and each explanation quotes the passage it came from. That quote is verified against your document before the question is shown, so a fabricated citation is removed rather than displayed. It is still AI, so it can be wrong — check anything important against your material.
Is there a free version?
Yes. New accounts get welcome exam credits, and you can build and sit a full practice exam without entering a card. Guests can try one exam before creating an account at all.
Credits and billing
How do exam credits work?
Most exams cost one credit. Exams over 40 questions cost two, and one more credit is added for the hardest difficulty, an open-answer-heavy paper, or a very large amount of source material. The exact price is shown before you generate and never changes afterwards. Retaking an exam you already generated is free. A credit is only spent when an exam is successfully built — a failed generation is never charged.
Do credits expire?
Welcome and referral credits are golden credits and never expire. Credits included with a monthly plan belong to that billing period, and a limited number carry over. Credits bought as a pack do not expire.
Can I cancel, and can I get a refund?
You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account, and it stays active until the end of the period you have paid for. Refunds follow the policy on the refunds page, including the EU right of withdrawal where it applies.
Your material and privacy
What happens to the material I upload?
It is stored against your account so your exams keep working, and it is used to build your exams and nothing else. It is not used to train models, it is not shared, and deleting a project or your account removes it.
Which languages are supported?
The interface is available in English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. Exams can be generated in the language of your material, which does not have to be the language you use the app in.
Your account
How do I change my email address or password?
Both are in your account settings, under Sign-in and security. Changing your email sends a confirmation link to the new address, and changing either signs out every other device.
How do I delete my account?
Account settings, at the bottom. It asks you to confirm because it is permanent: your exams, uploads, results and any remaining credits go with it, and we cannot recover them afterwards.
Still stuck?
Write to us with what you were doing and what happened. If an exam failed to build, include the reference shown on the error — it points straight at the trace.
